{"id":1071,"date":"2013-11-29T15:18:58","date_gmt":"2013-11-29T20:18:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jerrysjuicebar.com\/blog\/?p=1071"},"modified":"2014-01-23T15:12:50","modified_gmt":"2014-01-23T20:12:50","slug":"gratitude","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jerrysjuicebar.com\/blog\/?p=1071","title":{"rendered":"Gratitude"},"content":{"rendered":"<a href=\"http:\/\/jerrysjuicebar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/daily-gratitude.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1074\" alt=\"daily-gratitude\" src=\"http:\/\/jerrysjuicebar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/daily-gratitude.jpg\" width=\"3072\" height=\"1512\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jerrysjuicebar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/daily-gratitude.jpg 3072w, https:\/\/jerrysjuicebar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/daily-gratitude-300x147.jpg 300w, https:\/\/jerrysjuicebar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/daily-gratitude-1024x504.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 3072px) 100vw, 3072px\" \/><\/a>\n<p>Today is Thanksgiving. \u00a0Ok, today is the day after Thanksgiving but I wrote this yesterday and didn&#8217;t post it because I was enjoying my Thanksgiving with my wonderful family. \u00a0And that brought to mind this:\u00a0 the older I get, the more I am convinced that one can never have enough thankfulness.\u00a0 Gratitude is always in short supply.<\/p>\n<p>This is too bad because I\u2019ve found that \u2026<\/p>\n<p>Gratitude is the necessary first step to joy.\u00a0\u00a0True joy comes after you are able to say &#8220;I\u2019m so lucky to &#8230;&#8221; or &#8220;I&#8217;m so happy that &#8230;&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0I cannot imagine being joyful without first being gracious and thankful.<\/p>\n<p>Gratitude takes you outside of &#8220;self&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0It is good to be kind and compassionate.\u00a0\u00a0It is great to be able to appreciate and be thankful for the kindness and compassion of others.\u00a0\u00a0Thankfulness fuels both humility and love.<\/p>\n<p>Gratitude enables you to appreciate everything.\u00a0\u00a0I am thankful of my many blessings.\u00a0\u00a0But I am (or should be) also thankful of my even more abundant shortcomings.\u00a0\u00a0I learn from both.<\/p>\n<p>So thank you.\u00a0\u00a0Thank you to all those who have been so kind, gracious and generous to me over the years.\u00a0\u00a0Thank you to all of those who have done so to others.\u00a0\u00a0We have all benefitted from your love.
