{"id":356,"date":"2009-06-12T08:09:43","date_gmt":"2009-06-12T15:09:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jerrysjuicebar.com\/blog\/?p=356"},"modified":"2009-06-12T13:07:09","modified_gmt":"2009-06-12T20:07:09","slug":"top-ten","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jerrysjuicebar.com\/blog\/?p=356","title":{"rendered":"Top Ten"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Most folks who know me know that I&#8217;m a BIG fan of the number three.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, I should write a post about the number three.\u00a0 I think I&#8217;ll do that.\u00a0 Stay tuned.<\/p>\n<p>Three is the perfect number.\u00a0 It is nature.\u00a0 It is morning, noon, and night.\u00a0 It is breakfast, lunch, and dinner.\u00a0 It is the perfect triangle.\u00a0 The triune God.\u00a0 It is the Hegelian dialectic &#8211; thesis, antithesis, and synthesis.\u00a0 It is even Obamaesque.\u00a0 Check out his non-state of the union address to Congress in January.\u00a0 What did he talk about?\u00a0 Three things:\u00a0 education, energy, and health care.\u00a0 Fact is that THREE is the number for just about every speech, sermon, or presentation structure.\u00a0 But I&#8217;m going to write a post about three so I&#8217;ll stop now.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-357\" style=\"margin: 8px;\" title=\"151fsesame-street-count-to-ten-posters\" src=\"http:\/\/jerrysjuicebar.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/151fsesame-street-count-to-ten-posters.jpg\" alt=\"151fsesame-street-count-to-ten-posters\" width=\"216\" height=\"277\" \/>And talk about ten.<\/p>\n<p>Now that&#8217;s an interesting number.\u00a0 Ten most wanted.\u00a0 Ten commandments.\u00a0\u00a0 Top ten.\u00a0 A &#8220;perfect&#8221; ten.\u00a0 Ten is a bit odd in that it is associated both with the divine (God&#8217;s commandments) and the deplorable (FBI&#8217;s ten most wanted).\u00a0 It is associated with children (Sesame Street) and sports (Big Ten).<\/p>\n<p>So it is in that spirit that I call attention to two &#8220;10&#8221; pieces I saw recently.<\/p>\n<p>First is the &#8220;10&#8221; is Lon Safko&#8217;s &#8220;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/blog\/lon-safko\/ten-commandments-social-media\/ten-commandments-social-media?partner=homepage_newsletter\" target=\"_blank\">The Ten Commandments of Blogging<\/a><\/strong>&#8220;.\u00a0 Interesting.\u00a0 I thought everyone was on Twitter now and had abandoned their WordPress platform.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pretty good stuff.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t do all of them.\u00a0 Then again, I can&#8217;t say that I keep all of the REAL ten commandments.\u00a0 But I like Lon&#8217;s approach.\u00a0 Note that he saved the best to last.\u00a0 Be creative.\u00a0 Have fun.<\/p>\n<p>Second is Graham Charleton&#8217;s top <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/econsultancy.com\/blog\/3981-top-ten-online-pr-fails\" target=\"_blank\">ten social media pr screw ups<\/a><\/strong> on eConsultancy.\u00a0 These are certainly the most famous.\u00a0 I do take issue with a couple of them.\u00a0 Personally, I thought Domino&#8217;s strategy in responding to the employee video was pretty good.\u00a0 They certainly couldn&#8217;t be blamed for having a couple of\u00a0 goof-ball employees out of the tens of thousands that they hire.\u00a0 And the fact that they responded in the same media as the source (YouTube) was pretty smart.\u00a0 Lots of folks would have gone straight to Good Morning America or something stupid like that.<\/p>\n<p>But I guess he needed ten.\u00a0 That&#8217;s that other nice thing about three.\u00a0 There&#8217;s only three of them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Most folks who know me know that I&#8217;m a BIG fan of the number three.
